Kathmandu, Feb. 9: The CPN-UML has decided to support Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala in the election for the post of Prime Minister to be held tomorrow.
A decision to this end was taken by the CPN-UML Standing Committee meeting held at the CA building New Baneswor this afternoon.
Talking to reporters following the meeting, Party Chairman Jhalanath Khanal said the UML decided to support the NC in respect of the mandate of the CA election for the two parties to go together ahead.
However, other parties also must be included in the new government, he said.The UML is supporting the NC—the largest party in the parliament and it is now the responsibility of the NC to manage the policy and programme ahead, he added.
The two major parties—the NC and UML are reportedly forging a ‘package agreement’ later today in regards to the formation of the next government. RSS
