Belauri (Kanchanpur), Dec. 27: The Far-west Media Development Centre has started a citizen awareness campaign with a view to providing access to citizens to the right to information (RTI).
The centre has started the campaign simultaneously in Attariya, Chaukidanda of Kailali district and Krishnapur, Jhalari, Daiji, and Mahendranagar of Kanchanpur district on Thursday and citizens were made aware of RTI, said Umid Bagchand, Chairman of the Center.
“Good governance is possible only when the citizens are well aware about the right to information,” said Bagchand.
During the campaign, the participants were provided information about RTI, public information, role of the information in public sector and the benefits of good governance.
Bagchand said around 99 per cent people were found ignorant about the RTI. RSS
