President yadav and chairman regmi join chhath celebrations

Kathmandu, Nov. 8: On the occasion of Chhath festival, President Dr Ram Baran Yadav and Chairman of the Interim Council of Ministers Khil Raj Regmi attended a function held at the Ranipokhari premises on Friday late afternoon.

On the occasion, President Dr Yadav offered argha to the setting Sun as part of the Chhath festival celebrations.

            Likewise, speaking at a function organized on the occasion, Chairman Regmi said festivals like these observed in Nepal though concerned with any particular ethnic group, community or geography tie all Nepalis in a string of unity.

He also urged those present on the occasion to select their people’s representative by using their conscience and thereby voting for the candidate and party of their choice in the upcoming CA elections.

Stating that the Government was determined to conclude the November 19 elections in a free and fair manner, Chairman Regmi said the government has completed all preparations for the election.

Likewise, Minister for Energy Umakant Jha described the festival as very unique in the world that is observed by paying obeisance to the rising and setting sun. RSS
