CPN-Unified (Revolutionary) Unified to Ucpn-Maoist

Kathmandu, Oct. 7: The CPN-Unified (Revolutionary) has been unified with the UCPN (Maoist).

CPN-Unified (Revolutionary) coordinator Yamuna  Bhusal announced the integration of party into the UCPN (M) at a programme at UCPN (M)  central office, Parisdanda, on Monday.

Addressing the programmme, UCPN (M) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal stressed the need of strong unity among the revolutionary communist parties for the liberation of people. Unification between the two revolutionary and changing forces on the eve of the Constituent Assembly was a matter of happiness, he said, adding it would show the possibility of full majority of such forces in the election.

The CA election was the sole alternative to institutionalize achievements of different movements and ensure the people’s rights and it would meet the aspirations for the Nepali people,  Dahal said.

According to information provided at the programme, a 27-member CPN-Unified (Revolutionary) led by Bhusal has merged into the UCPN (M). As per the agreement reached between the two sides, Bhusal will be on the  UCPN (M) central committee whereas as central members Dr Keshab Devkota and Ghana Prasad Gautam will be appointed as the party advisors.

Likewise, other leaders and cadres will be integrated into the local committees, according to UCPN (M) leader and unification talks team coordinator Amik Sherchan. RSS
