Food Corporation to sell goats from Wednesday

Kathmandu, Oct. 1: The Nepal Food Corporation is selling goats for meat in view of Dashain festival from Wednesday.

The Corporation has decided to start selling goats, brought to Kathmandu from mountainous belt of Far-western region, from tomorrow after determining the unit price.

The Corporation sources said that the decision for early sale of goats was taken considering convenience of ostumers.

In earlier Dashain festivals, the Corporation had opened the sale of goats from Ghatasthapana.

Corporation General Manager Dr Shivahari Shrestha told RSS that the sale of goat this year has been made little bit early keeping in mind the convenience of costumers.

Around 600 goats have been transported to Kathmandu as of Monday while more than 1,000 will be brought by tomorrow evening. Likewise, 500 goats each day will be brought during five days from Wednesday.

The goats transported to Kathmandu will be checked whether they are healthy enough for meat or not.

Likewise, the Corporation has run subsidized shops in various districts in view of Dashain and Tihar festivals as per the government’s policy, said Shrestha. RSS
