FIVE DEAD, 10 HURT IN UDAYPUR JEEP ACCIDENT

Gaighat, Oct. 28: Five people were killed on the spot and 10 others including a minor have been seriously injured in a jeep accident at Andheri of Sirise VDC-7 in Udyapur. The accident occurred yesterday evening.

Of the dead, three have been identified whereas identities of the two are yet to be ascertained.  Those identified are Narayan Prasad Pokhrel, 73, from Bijaykharka-9, Khotang, Bal Kumar Khatri from Baksila-4, Khotang and Sarita Ranamagar, 24, from Dharan, Sunsari and currently living at Ghurmi, Udaypur, according to Chief of Area Police Office Katari, Kisansing Thapa.

The injured are Ghamanda Pariyar,23, of Ghurmi, Bhumika Pariyar, 6, Rajan Pariyar, 14, Mohan Bahadur Shrestha, 27, from Salleri-1, Okhaldhunga, Panchi Subba,26, from Necha-8, Solukhumbu and Tulasa Khanal, 73,  and Nanadaram Khanal, 71, from Bijaykharka-4, Khotang, Khemraj Basnet, 51, of Katari and Saroj Rai, 24, from Hetuda. They all have been referred to Biratnagar for further treatment, the police said.

A jeep (Ja 1 Ja 176) heading towards Ghurmi from Katari fell around 500 meter down the road. The driver is on the run after the accident and police are searching for him, it is learnt. RSS
