Lamjung, Sept. 30: The Besisahar-Chame road section is still disrupted. The road section was obstructed since three months back due to the landslides at different places.

The locals are compelled to walk to their destination and buy foods and consumer goods at a high price due to the transport disruption.

Local shopkeepers and traders have hiked the prices of goods in an arbitrary manner.  Along the 65 kilometre- long road section, the landslides have occurred at Myardibhir, Danakchhu, Bagarchhap and Chyamje.

The condition of the road is so bad that it is difficult even for pedestrians, said local Tham Ghale. Tourists coming to visit the Annapurna range are stranded on the way after the disruption of the road section.

The road section was constructed by the Nepal Army and was in operation until the Army had taken responsibility for its repair and maintenance but now it is handed over to the Road Division and has not been repaired, complained locals. RSS
