Fifty-seven organizations approved for election monitoring

 Kathmandu, Nov. 3: The Election Commission has granted permission to 57 organizations including three international institutions for the monitoring of the November 19 elections.

Accordingly, 225 international observers and 5,587 national observers have already been mobilized for the upcoming CA elections, according to information shared at a press conference organized by the Commission here Sunday.

Similarly, the Commission has set up 323 temporary polling stations aimed at the civil servants and corporation staff, army and police, prisoners, the eldery, election staff among others.

They will however be voting only in the proportional representation system.

Meanwhile, the Commission has also been directing the local police administration to remove the pamphlets and posters pasted at various public places, in violation of the election code of conduct, according to EC Spokesperson Bir Bahadur Rai.

The concerned parties and candidates have been alerted accordingly, he added. RSS
