lawmakers from dolakha pledge to focus on constitution making

Kathmandu, Feb. 23:  CPN (UML) lawmakers from Dolakha have expressed commitments to focusing on the constitution writing, associated with nation’s prosperity, with honesty.

At a programme organised by the Dolkhali Journalists’ Society here today, they argued that political parties have more responsibilities than lawmakers in the constitution-drafting and added that they would fulfill their responsibilities as the member to the new CA.

On the occasion, party politburo member and CA member Pashupati Chaulagain expressed commitment to constructing the Tamakoshi III Hydropower Project and to dedicate to the overall economic development of Dolakha.

Similarly, Ananda Prasad Pokhrel, elected from Dolakha Constituency No. 2, said that he would take initiatives as far as possible for the development of different sectors including hydropower, road, education and health in the district.

Pokhrel added that he would actively engage for establishing an university for the study of Buddhist philosophy and a museum in his home town.

Likewise, Parbat Gurung, elected from Constituency No. 1, expressed the commitment that he would move ahead by formulating an action plan in a way to support for the overall development of the country by developing Dolakha into as a ‘model’ district in view of economic prosperity.

He added although the district has abundant possibilities of hydropower   and tourism development, such possibilities are yet to be identified and expressed commitments to focus on the overall development of the district.

Chairperson of Srasta Samaj and senior film artiste Madandas Shrestha urged lawmakers to give an attention towards developing the district into a ‘cine city’.

Press Chautari Nepal’s advisor and society advisor Ganesh Basnet, member of Federation of Nepali Journalists and society former president Bal Krishna Basnet, journalists Bal Ram Thapa, Ramesh Khadka and society vice president Shurojung Pande urged lawmakers to serve the nation rising above the partisan interests and focus on economic development of the district as well.

Society President Santosh Khadka stressed all the lawmakers elected from the district should be serious towards the development of district.
