NC SETS CRITERIA FOR NOMINATION OF PR CANDIDATES

Kathmandu, Dec. 28: Nepali Congress (NC) parliamentary board has set some criteria for the final nomination of candidates under the Proportional Representation (PR) system.

Party’s parliamentary board meeting held at the party central office, Sanepa Saturday, came up with certain criteria for the selection of PR candidates.

According to party Vice President Ram Chandra Poudel, continued dedication to the party, active participation in different movements and support (in every critical juncture) to the party will be highly evaluated while selecting the PR candidates.

The matters of regional balance, representation of backward regions and women’s representation will be given priority as well.

The party plans to submit the final name list of PR candidates to the Election Commission on December 30, Vice President Poudel said.

The next meeting of the board to be held tomorrow, Sunday, is expected to finalise the name list. Earlier today, the CPN (UML) presented a name list of its 84 PR candidates to the EC. RSS
