Aryal promoted to IGP of nepal police

Kathmandu, Nov. 11: The government has decided to promote Additional Inspector General (AIG) of Nepal Police Upendra Kanta Aryal to the post of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) effective from November 16.

Incumbent Inspector General of Police Kuber Singh Rana is retiring on November 15.A meeting of the Council of Ministers held today took a decision to this effect.

Likewise, the government has decided to give public holiday in all government offices from November 17 to 20 considering the Constituent Assembly (CA) elections to be held on November 19.

However, the government bodies delivering most essential services would get holiday only on November 19 and 20, Minister for Health and Population Bidyadhar Mallik said.

Air services, transportation service, petroleum distribution service, government warehouse, postal service, telecommunication service, electricity supply, internal security, customs office, tourism service, banks, medicine companies, garbage management service, drinking water supply, infrastructure construction services and some others would get holiday only on November 19 and 20.

Minister Mallik, however, said that the most essential services including hospital and telecommunication services would remain open all days.

The cabinet meeting also approved the loan assistance of Rs 1.568 billion to be given by OPEC Fund International for Kathmandu Valley Drainage Management Committee. RSS
