Ministries told to remain active to make polls a success

Kathmandu, Nov. 8: A meeting of the Essential Services Operation and Management Committee has directed all the ministries to remain active to conclude the November 19 Constituent Assembly (CA) elections in a successful manner.

The Committee under the Council of Ministers is convened by Minister for Home Affairs Madhav Prasad Ghimire. The Ministers for Federal Affairs and Local Development, Finance, Physical Planning and Transport, and Agricultural Development are members of the committee.

The meeting has directed all the ministries and line agencies to remain more active in the election related work in the time to accomplish the historical challenging job.

The meeting has also directed the ministries, commissions, secretariats, committees, corporations, departments and offices to immediately carry out the works relating to the election.

According to committee’s secretary Krishnahari Baskota, the Home Ministry has been asked to maintain a credible environment for peace and security, Finance Ministry to provide resources for election while Industry Ministry has been told to arrange regular operation of industries and factories.

Likewise, Ministry of Energy has been directed to ensure regular power supply in election related works while Ministry of Commerce and Supplies has been directed to maintain the supply management of daily essentials, fuel, gas, air fuel and other essential goods.

The secretaries of the ministries have been directed to present a daily report of their work related to the directives issued by the Committee. RSS
