Kathmandu, Nov. 8: A delegation from the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has called on CPN-Maoist leaders and urged them to withdraw general strike the party is supposed to enforce from coming November 11.

The delegation comprising FNCCI Chairperson Suraj Baidya and Vice Chairperson Bhaskar Raj Rajkarnikar on Friday visited CPN–Maoist Chairperson Mohan Baidya and Secretary Dev Gurung at the party office in Buddhanagar and urged them to call off general strike.

After the meeting, FNCCI Chairperson Baidya said they had requested CPN-Maoist to withdraw nationwide shutdown keeping in mind that such activities would further weaken economic condition of the country in such a fragile time.
