Butwal, Nov. Nepali Congress (NC) senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba has asserted that the NC could only lead the agenda for change.

Leader Deuba, who is also the former Prime Minister, said the Nepali people are eager to hand over leadership of change to the NC so as to make citizens the sovereign power by promulgating a new constitution through the Constituent Assembly (CA) election.

Addressing the election gathering and welcome to new entrants organized by NC Rupandehi constituency no. 1 at Siktanhan today, leader Deuba noted the national development is not possible merely from Singha Durbar so that decentralization is a key to address the problem.

With increasing wave of public support, the NC would garner two-third majorities from the people to shoulder up prime responsibility of taking ahead the country to right track, he added.

They have immersed into democratic system of the election to frame a new pro-people constitution, Deuba said, adding that the NC was effortful to empower Nepali citizens with special rights by restructuring the state as per the people’s aspirations.

He also claimed that the people will get new constitution within a year if they gave NC a majority in the November 19 election.

On the occasion, NC Rupandehi district president and candidate from constituency no. 1 Abdul Rajjak said the people have obligation to give NC a majority.

Some 25 active cadres from other parties including CPN-UML defected to NC.

Meanwhile, the former Prime Minister urged voters to make the party winner, amid a programme organized by NC Palpa constituency no. 3.

He blamed CPN-UML and UCPN (Maoist) for being reluctant to bring Mohan Baiddya-led CPN-Maoist to election process. RSS
