Kathmandu, Nov. 6: The National Election Observation Council (NEOC), Nepal has appealed to the CPN-Maoist to withdraw its proposed bandh or general shutdown, as it would have a very negative impact on people’s daily life.

Issuing a statement here on Wednesday, NEOC Chair Sudip Pathak has said that the bandh would affect employment, trade as well as the CA elections 2013.

Pathak has also urged the government, the election commission, the four major political forces and other stakeholders to invite all poll-opposing political parties to a dialogue, and ensure that the election is held peacefully.

Likewise, Transparency International Nepal has also appealed to the CPN-Maoist to position itself in favour of the people by withdrawing the proposed bandh, that could have a serious impact on the Nepali people’s life. RSS
