Action would be taken against those involved in attacking journalist:CDO Pandey

Rukum, Nov. 3: Chief District Officer of Rukum district, Bhabishwor Pandey, has expressed the commitment to take immediate action against those involved in attacking a journalist, Sher Prasad Dhakal.

Receiving a memorandum of the Revolutionary Journalists’ Association Nepal, Rukum, today, Pandey expressed the determination for taking action against the guilty

Stating that he directed police personnel to forward the trial process, he said police have been carrying out their investigation process.

On the occasion, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Rajendra Prasad Bhatta, said that his attention has been drawn towards the incident and added that he directed the underlying bodies to make the investigation effective.

The Association submitted the memo to Pandey demanding immediate action against the guilty. Cadres of the Nepali Congress had attacked Dhakal at Chourjahari in Rukum district on October 31, according to the Association.

However, NC said that Dhakal received injuries due to a clash that took place between its cadres and the UCPN (Maoist) cadres. Dhakal is associated with the Rukum-based Radio ‘Sanibheri’. RSS
