Election publicity materials used against election code of conduct removed

Kakadvitta (Jhapa), Nov. 3: The Election Commission has removed publicity materials placed by candidates of political parties at different public places in Jhapa district against the election code of conduct.

Police removed such materials along 52-kilometer highway from Damak- Kakadvitta in the orders of a monitoring team led by EC Commissioner, Ayodhi Prasad Yadav, assigned from the centre.

Big and small political parties in the district had hung and pasted their flags, banners and posters in markets and cross roads in the district.

Removing election publicity materials by mobilizing police personnel, EC has warned of taking stern action as per the law if such activities against the election code of conduct are found repeated by parties.

Markets and public places are seen clean and beautiful after removal of publicity materials.

District Chief Election Officer, Ramesh Kumar Khatri, said that they removed election materials used against election code of conduct alerting parties in the first phase and added that parties and candidates would face action if such trend was repeated.

Different parties including the UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress, Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP)-Nepal, Sanghiya Samajbadi Party, Chure Bhawar and Sanghiya Limbuwan Parishad, had placed flags and banners against the code of conduct. RSS
