Financial crisis affects compulsory and free education

Surkhet, Oct. 17: The compulsory and free basic education has been affected in Surkhet owing to financial crisis.

The programme has been affected for the state being lackadaisical to provide with adequate economic assistance for the same, complained the schools, which were declared as compulsory and free education providers.

According to the office-bearers of village education committee, it has troubled the operation of community schools run in 16 VDCs, where compulsory and free basic education programme has been so far implemented.

The school operation has seen difficulties when the schools declared for providing compulsory and free basic education are not allowed to receive any fee from students and also are compelled to meet school expenses mobilizing its resources and means at an optimum level, said Principal of Janasewa Higher Secondary, Ghusra Latikoili, Bhakta Bahadur Shahi.
