Kathmandu, Oct. 17: The Election Commission on Wednesday imparted training to international observers, who have arrived to monitor the November 19 Constituent Assembly (CA) elections in Nepal.

The Chief Election Commissioner, Election Commissioners and high-placed officials of the EC imparted training to a team of 34 election observers from the European Commission and 12 observers from the Carter Centre.

The international election observers have been asked to monitor whether election code of conducts are completely followed and whether works mentioned in the manifesto of the political parties are carried out in action as stated, said Election Commissioner Dr Rambhakta PB Thakur.

‘We had also asked them to immediately report to the EC if code of conducts were found to be breached during the period of election’, he said giving brief remarks on training.

Both the teams will go out for field level election monitoring soon. RSS
