Bhaktapur, Oct. 14: The production of flowers came down by 50 percent after flower farming was affected by disease in Gundu area of Bhaktapur where farmers sell flowers of hundreds of thousands of rupees each year.

Blast disease has affected the flowers in more than 100 ropanies of land in Gundu, said farmers. Most farmers here have flower farming in half ropani to five ropanies for the past ten years. Even 1500 garlands can not be made from one ropani of land as against 3,000 garlands in the past, said one trader Anita Basnet. RSS
