DEUBA STRESSES ON VICTORY OF DEMOCRATIC FORCE

Kathmandu, Oct.11:Nepali Congress ( NC) senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba has urged the people to give votes to democratic forces in the upcoming Constituent Assembly ( CA) election as drafting a democratic constitution is a  current need to ensure the rights of all backward, ethnic, ingenious nationalities and marginalised communities.

Speaking at a Dashain greetings exchange progremme here today, leader Deuba urged the CPN-Maoist, which has decided not to take part in the November 19 election, to help people use their voting right without any obstructions.

Also speaking on the occasion, party General Secretary Prakashman Singh underlined the need of drafting a democratic constitution for durable peace and development in the country.

He added that victory of democratic forces was essential in the CA election. Claiming that it was the Congress which had led the past great movements launched for democracy, he urged the people to make the party winning in the forthcoming election.

The programme was organised by Hamro Mitra Yuba Samuha (a youth club).

Poet Durgalal Shrestha, cyclist Balram Thapa, photographer Rachana Maharjan, former Additional Inspector General of Police Rabiraj Thapa, Shyam Shrestha, Astha Manandhar, Sharmila Suwal, Praddep Aryal and Rameshwor Maharjan were honoured on the occasion in recognition of their contribution to different sectors in the society.
