Dang, Oct. 10: CPN-Maoist Chairman Mohan Baidya has said that four major political parties have inflicted damage to the parliamentary system in the country.

He said that only a new political consensus would resolve the country’s existing problems.

At a press conference organized on Thursday at Lamahi of Dang to make the decision of the party politburo meeting public, Baidya said that parliamentary system has been unsuccessful in the country and the election scheduled to be held by keeping the 33-party aside would not bring the new constitution.

Chairman Baidya also brushed aside the rumors that the party was joining the election process and added that was only false publicity carried out by the UCPN (Maoist).

Baidya said that his party was holding discussions nationwide to make the upcoming agitations effective.

He however said that the election boycott programmes would be conducted in a peaceful manner. RSS
