Integrated security Strategy prepared: Minister Ghimire

Chitwan, Oct. 9: Minister for Home Affairs, Madhav Prasad Ghimire, has said that the government was committed to holding free and fair election to the second Constituent Assembly (CA).

Inaugurating the Regional Security Seminar on CA election in Bharatpur today, Minister Ghimire said that works are underway to take the Integrated Security Plan to lower bodies by preparing it for election security.

Stating that polling booths targeted security strategy has been already prepared, he clarified that 10,017 polling booths would be safe from it.

Minister Ghimire indicating to the poll-opposing parties added that the government has been engaged in holding free and fair election. The Home Minister further said that roles of all would be important for the CA election.

Ghimire said role of mediapersons was also important and urged to be alert on time towards obstructions to elections and disseminate news in favour of election.

Stating that civil supremacy is the optimum point of democratic system, Minister Ghimire mentioned that CA election was indispensible for political rights and for civil supremacy.

On the occasion, Chilef Election Commissioner Nil Kantha Upreti, expressed the determination that the Election Commission (EC) would leave no stone unturned to hold the second CA election.

Upreti further said that the government has made a complete preparation on how to make the CA election safer.

Similarly, Joint-Secretary at the Ministry, Shankar Prasad Koirala, said that the seminar would be focused on how to take the election-centric strategy to lower bodies and to make it effective.

Secretary at the Ministry, Janardan Nepal, Inspector General of the Nepal Police, Kuber Singh Rana, Inspector General of the Armed Police Force, Koshraj Wonta, Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General of the Nepal Army, Netra Bahadur Thapa, Chief Investigation Director of the National Investigation Department, Moti Bahadur Gurung, among others, are participating in the seminar.

The seminar, where chiefs of security bodies of nine districts of central development region are participating, is going to be concluded today. RSS
