Kathmandu, Oct. 6: The poll-opposing 33 parties’ front led by the CPN-Maoist has said efforts were on in the country for tyranny and conflict in the camouflage of election.

The meeting of the front held at Maoist party office, Buddhanagar, concluded that the government’s decision to mobilize Nepal Army in the CA election has proved that efforts were made to invite further conflict in the country, read a press release issued by CPN-Maoist’s Dev Gurung on Sunday.

“Mobilization of army in election indicates the failure of main four political parties and government but the political supremacy of the 33-party front”, added the release.

Similarly, the meeting condemned the attack on its cadres by the UCPN-Maoist during an election boycott programme in Salyan. It has also demanded the release of the five cadres of Sanghiya Lumbuwan Rajya Parishad detained in Morang in course of banda programme.

The 33 parties have also expressed grave concern over the views of Chief of Army Staff Gaurav Shumsher Rana dubbing it against diplomatic norms. It also demanded action against Rana.

Through the press release, the dissenting parties said the attack on election candidate Mahamud Malam was a blatant interference on national independence. RSS
