Kalaiya, Oct. 6: Different Muslim associations and organizations have demonstrated against the murder attempt on Mahamud Alam, 50. He is the president of Muslim Ittehad Association Nepal and CPN (UML) central member.
People from the Muslim community joined the demonstrations organised at the call of different Muslim organisations. They called for the resignation of Home Minister Madhav Prasad Ghimire and sought action against the perpetrators. Allauddin Hajam led the demonstrations.
Alam is a CPN (UML) candidate from the Bara constituency No. 5 under the direct system for the upcoming Constituent Assembly ( CA) election scheduled for November 19.
He was shot at his head and is undergoing treatment at the Maharajgunj-based Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital. His condition is very critical. RSS
