Incidents of violence would have no effect in CA election programme: Chairman khanal

Biratnagar, Oct. 6. Chairman of the CPN (UML), Jhala Nath Khanal, has said a handful of incidents would have no effect in the Constituent Assembly (CA) election scheduled for November 19.

Talking to journalists at a press meet here today, Khanal said Nepali people and political parties are ready to sacrifice to make the CA election a success on the slated date.

UML Chairman Khanal condemned the shooting of UML candidate from Bara, Mohammad Alam in strong words and terming it a cowardly attack and demanded that the guilty of the incident should be brought to book.

Leader Khanal demanded with the government that it should form a probe committee and make the report public after due investigation.

Former Prime Minister Khanal urged one and all to participate in the CA election. He also urged the government to maintain tight security to hold the election in a free and fair manner.

He further said the nation has gone to the election process and therefore it would in no way be postponed.

Khanal, who arrived here to participate in a party programme in Sunsari district, reiterated that the UML would stand first under the first-past-the-post election category. RSS
