CONFERENCE OF GLOBAL NEPALI LITERARY FEDERATION CONCLUDES

Kathmandu, Nov. 2: The Global Nepali Literary Federation is committed to be united for the promotion and publicity of Nepali literature. ‘The conference of the federation held in Kathmandu has inspired us to be devoted to promote Nepali literature. The expert and scholar of Nepali literature from home and abroad paid much more attention that has evoked us to do something for the publicity and promotion of Nepali literature, said Bishwas Deep Tigela, chairman at the federation.

The assembly was concluded by declaring 12-point Kathmandu declaration with the main objective of translating Nepali literature in to other languages.

On the occasion, Prem Pradhan, chancellor of the Indian Literary Academy Advisory Committee, Prof. Dr. Kavita Lama, Head of Nepali Department of Banaras Hindu University  (BHU), Prof. Dr.  Diwakar Pradhan, Head of Indian Languages Department of BHU, Laxman Neupane of Myanmar, Sandhya Regmi Shiwakoti of Vietnam, Denjong Sampang of Bhutan and representatives of NRN, literary figures were participated in the conference, said Federation Chairman Bishwas Deep Tigela.

The assembly was run under the slogan of Nepali literature our: identity, prosperous literature our goal.

A paper was presented on the contemporary issues on the occasion. The federation was established on July13, 2010 and some 18 chapters in 14 countries have been set up till date.

The federation was established with the objective of expanding and promoting Nepali literature in the world, it is learnt. Some 150 representatives of NRN literary figures across the world were present on the occasion.

Most of the speakers had underlined the importance of publicizing and preparing electronic materials like cartoons and materials of entertainment for children in Nepali language to make Nepali language popular among them.  RSS
