
Kathmandu, Dec 3: A meeting of the 20-party alliance led by UCPN (Maoist) today decided to assign the Chairperson of the Constitutional-Political Dialogue and Consensus Committee (CPDCC) Dr Baburam Bhattarai to break the deadlock prevailing in the CPDCC.
According to the Constituent Assembly (CA) member Laxmanlal Karna, the meeting held in the office of UCPN (Maoist)’s Legislature-Parliament Board, agreed to allow the Chairperson of the CPDCC to act on to further the submission process of the proposal that the Nepali Congress and the CPN (UML) brought and presented in the CPDCC, in the Constituent Assembly.
The 20 parties along with the UCPN (Maoist) also reached the decision that no further discussion, debate and voting will be held on the proposals submitted on the behalf of CPDCC to the Constituent Assembly.
Similarly, a meeting held this morning amongst the Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) leaders in the capital had decided to assign the CPDCC Chairperson to resolve the deadlock.
