‘Government committed to reduce unemployment’

Hetauda, Dec. 7: Chief Secretary of the Nepal government, Leelamani Poudyal, has said the government is moving ahead with an action plan to reduce growing problem of unemployment within a few years.

Inaugurating the 47th annual general meeting (AGM) of Makawanpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Hetauda on Saturday, he explained the government’s policy to gradually implement a plan of making people self-reliant through agriculture, tourism and domestic industry from coming fiscal year.

The government has not imposed any ban to export gravels produced within the country to India, but the illegal operation of stone mines in the forest is of course not permissible, he further said.

At the programme presided over by Chamber Chairperson Bhuwan Lal Shrestha, various speakers including Central Regional Administrator Ranjab Lakaul, Chairperson of Infrastructure Development Company Kush Kumar Joshi and Makawanpur Chief District Officer Ek Narayan Aryal urged the government to devise plan and resources for completing the construction of the Hetauda-Kulekhani Tunnel Highway, transforming Hetauda Hospital into the regional one and developing Hetauda as tourism hub.

The Chief Secretary also gave away letters of appreciation to different industries based in Hetauda Industrial Corridor for exporting their products to foreign countries. RSS
