CA court sees five complaints; Chairperson Prachanda summoned to appear in court

Kathmandu, Dec. 6: Five losing candidates of the recent Constituent Assembly (CA) election have filed separate complaints at the Constituent Assembly (CA) court on Friday.

They have lodged the complaints demanding re-polling and re-counting alleging massive rigging marked with booth capture in the election.

Among those registering the complaints are Nawal Kishor Sah of Sadbhavana Party from Saptari constituency no. 2, Surita Kumari Sah of the same party from Mahottari constituency no. 4, Janaki Sharan Sah of Sadbhavana Party from Mahottari constituency no. 2, Ram Rijan Yadav of Unified CPN (Maoist) from Siraha constituency no. 3 and Rabikala Sharma Neupane from Gorkha constituency no. 2.

They have registered complaints against winners Ashok Kumar Mandal of Unified CPN (Maoist), independent candidate Chandeswor Jha, NC’s candidates Kiran Yadav and Sita Devi Yadav and Hitraj Pandey of Unified CPN (Maoist), respectively.

The Election Commission and election officers of the respective constituencies, among others, were named defendants in the writ.

Meanwhile, an order was issued today summoning winner from Siraha constituency no. 5, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, among other, to appear in the court within 10 days.

A divisional bench of CA Court Chairperson Kalyan Shrestha and member duo, Girish Chandra Lal and Sushila Karki issued the directive to UCPN (Maoist) Chairperson Dahal and election officer of Siraha constituency no. 5 Uddhav Bhattarai, among others.

CPN-UML candidate from the constituency Leelanath Shrestha had demanded re-polling alleging election rigging by the cadres of Chairperson Dahal. RSS
