Constitution Writing first priority: Chairman Khanal

Mangalbare (Ilam), Nov. 23: Chairman of the CPN-UML, Jhalanath Khanal, has said that constitution writing and peace process would be the first priorities of the newly elected Constituent Assembly members.

Addressing a victory rally at Ilam Chowk this morning, Chairman Khanal said the peace process was yet to be concluded. All need to accept the CA results, he added.

According to him, it was time to take forward the politics of consensus and cooperation. He further claimed that the draft of the constitution would come within six months, and it would not take more than a year to promulgate the constitution.

Moreover, leader Khanal urged the UCPN-Maoist not to make any decision in impulse. All can realize the pang of loss, he added.

Similarly, another leader Subash Nembang expressed commitment that the winners would not dampen people’s mandate now. RSS
