Kanchanpur, Nov. 13: An unknown group detonated a bomb targeting Chairman of the Unified CPN (Maoist), Pushpa Kamal Dahal in Kanchanpur on Wednesday.
The unknown group exploded the bomb at Dhakkapur of Dekhatbhuli VDC-1 in Kanchanpur district while Chairman Dahal was on his way to Belauri to address an election gathering.
According to Rajendra Prasad Chaudhary, Chief at the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, the unknown group exploded the bomb just some 100 meters behind Chairman Dahal’s vehicle.
The explosion, however, caused no damage on the vehicle. Also, no casualty has been reported in the incident.
“Police have been carrying out investigation to find those behind the explosion,” said Chief Police Officer Chaudhary.
Meanwhile, the UCPN (Maoist) has sternly condemned the attack against its party Chairman Dahal in Kanchanpur.
The UCPN (Maoist) Spokesperson, Agni Prasad Sapkota, issued a press statement and condemned the attack by saying such a cowardly attack would not be bearable to his party and all Nepali people.
The statement demanded that the government pay special attention to maintain security to the party leadership, who are working round the clock to succeed the election. RSS
