Ratnanagar (Chitwan), Nov. 12: The shutdown enforcers had torched a passenger-ferrying bus at Jugedi of Chitwan last night.

The Kathmandu bound bus (Na 4 Kha 4734) from Sarlahi caught fire that hurled from the ridge above, said Deputy Superintendant of Police (DSP) at the District Police Office, Sanjaya Raut.

Police failed to nab the people involved in the incident as it took place at around 1.30 AM late night, said the police.          The police could not prevent the incident since the bus was quite behind the escorting provided by police for security, said the district police sources.

No human casualty was reported since passengers narrowly escaped possible fatal incident by instantly jumping out from the bus after it caught fire, Raut added.

He further said all the vehicles went through their destination with police escorting in the night after the incident.

Meanwhile, a cylinder bomb went off itself at Khairahani-2, Bairahani in eastern Chitwan. No loss of life and property was caused from the explosion, police confirmed.

Vehicular operation has not been smooth across the country since last Monday due to shutdown enforced by poll-opposing political alliance. RSS
