Butwal, Nov. 11: Rastriya Janamorcha Chairperson Chitra Bahadur KC has said that the institutional development of republic, safeguarding of nationality and preventing country from going into federalism could be possible if his party was made stronger in the Constituent Assembly (CA) election.

At a press meet at Bhairahawa on Monday, he said the constitution could not be promulgated until abrogation of federalism agenda arguing the main law was not framed during past four years due to conflict among pro-federal parties.

He further said that federalism would not be economically viable though he has no aversion to the word itself.

Noting that the federalism that is being brought into practice in the name of restructuring the state would disintegrate the country and weaken national unity, he argued that the unitary system based on democratic decentralization and local self-governance as an alternative to federalism would augur well for the country.

He further said there is no alternative to withdrawing the suicidal concept such as ethnic states, right to self determination fostering right to cessation, one Madhes single Pradhesh and multi-nationalism. RSS
