Tanahu, Nov. 1: UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said his party needs majority in the upcoming Constituent Assembly (CA) election for national integrity and to attain political stability, economic development and federalism with identity.

Addressing a mass meeting organised by the party in course of an election campaign at the Tahanu district headquarters, Damauli, today, leader Dahal said it was a matter of sadness for all of us that the first CA failed to give the people a new constitution despite a term of four years.

Those anti-democratic forces who do not want positive changes in the country and support monarchy in the country are reluctant to go for federalism and the nation has to go for the second CA election due to them, he said.

“Now we should be confident of the drafting of a new constitution after the November 19 election,” he added. Although, the CPN-Maoist announced the Damauli banda or shutdown today to obstruct the arrival of Dahal, the town witnessed least impact of banda. RSS
