80 per cent apples produced in Mustang already sold

Pokhara, Nov. 1: Eighty percent apples produced by farmers in Mustang district have been already sold this year.

Narayan Kafle, a Horticulture Officer at the District Agriculture Development Office, said that apples worth Rs. 200 million were sold.

A total of 3,600 metric tonnes of apples were produced in the district this year. This production was 30 per cent less as compared to the previous year.

Apples were planted in 300 hectares of land this year which was 15 hectares more than the previous year.Mostly, apples are produced in Marfa Tukuche, Jomsom, Kagbeni, Jhong, Husang, Muktinath and Ghami VDCs in the district. RSS
