Dhankuta, Nov. 1: Political parties in Dhankuta are found massively violating the election code of conduct in course of launching an election campaign.

The second Constituent Assembly (CA) election candidates and their supporters have intensified the campaign but side by side they are violating the election code of conducts as well.

The way that they are carrying out publicity campaign is against the election code of conduct set by the Election Commission. Painting election symbols on public walls, electric poles, pasting posters and placing party flags there which is banned by the election code of conduct is common in the district.

CPN (UML) leader Surendra Poudel who is caught at the District Election Commission to complain of the incidents of election code of conduct, claimed that government employees here are also promoting the UCPN (Maoist) election campaign.

Most of the big parties here and other parties such as the Rastriya Prajatantra Party and Sanghiya Samajbadi Party are accused of violating the election code of conduct.  The RPP-Nepal is making development promises and offering meal party to woo the voters.

The district that has one municipality and 35 village development committees sends two members to the CA under the first-past-the post systemBut all the political parties contending for the CA seats from two constituencies are violating the election code of conduct more or less.

When this RSS reporter approached to Election Officer Subarna Ghimire, he said his office has received the information about the violation of election code of conduct and has taken steps to control such incidents. We have urged the political parties not to repeat the mistakes and to abide by the election code of conduct issued by the EC.

The number of voters from both constituencies is 82,616 (43,411 women and 39,205 men). RSS
