Itahari, Nov. 1: Election Commissioner (EC) Ayodhi Prasad Yadav has said no political parties are allowed to violate the election code of conduct and any party proved violating such codes will be brought under the purview of law.

Taking part in a programme at Itahari, Sunsari today, Commissioner Yadav said he is here to monitor the reported cases in relation to the violation of election code of conduct in eastern Nepal.

The UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress, CPN (UML) and the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum Nepal ( MJF-Democratic) have been found not abiding by the election code of conduct and clarifications have also been sought from them in this regard.

UCPN (M) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal had reportedly used a helicopter for an election campaign without taking permission from the EC which was in violation of the election code of conduct and we have already sought clarifications from him about this, he said.

Similarly, RPP-Nepal was found using vehicles in an unauthorized channel and has been sought clarifications for that.

Likewise, the MJF (Democratic) Chairman had violated the election code of conduct while landing at Biratnagar Airport in course of an election campaign and the EC has already sought clarifications from him, he added.

EC commissioner Yadav warned that the poll candidates will have to face action and their candidacies may be cancelled if they again repeat such mistakes. RSS
