Khanal urges CPN-Maoist to support election

Mangalbare (Ilam), Nov. 1: Chairman of the CPN (UML), Jhalanath Khanal, has said that the CPN-Maoist should not foil the election to the next Constituent Assembly (CA).At an election assembly organised at Chisapani bazaar under Ilam Constituency No. 1, Khanal requested the CPN-Maoist to move ahead supporting the CA election, a historic election to decide people’s future, rather than foiling it.

He claimed that the CA election declared for November 19 would be held at any cost as the government, Election Commission and major political parties are centred on election.

The CPN (UML) Chairman said that protests of the CPN-Maoist should be peaceful even if the party boycotts it. He argued that his party would be the largest power in the upcoming CA election as it has moved ahead making agenda of the country.

Khanal said that the CPN (UML) has not faced any problem even if some friends left the party and added that those, who left the party before, are now rejoining it.

He said he has also filed his candidacy from Sarlahi district to take the country forward by uniting the Himalayan, mountain and Tarai regions.The former Prime Minister said that development works worth Rs. 1.25 billion were carried out in his constituency during his term as prime minister. RSS
