Dead bodies in Solu avalanche handed over to families

Solukhumbu, Oct. 18: The bodies of two mountaineers who were killed in an avalanche on Mt. Barunche on Monday have been handed over to the relatives.

The bodies of the deceased were taken to their houses by a helicopter from a hotel in between Khomdadin and Seto Pokhari in the district.

Three persons including Palden Tamang and Ram Tamang of Kerung-2 were buried in the avalanche.  However, the body of the hotelier is yet to be taken out.

The team of three Hungarians and 10 Nepalis was on its way to scale the Mt Barunche via Snow Horizon Company. Of them, two of its staff died while all others suffered minor injuries, according to tour guide Dwang Sherpa. RSS
