Home minister inaugurates new police office

Pokhara, Oct. 18: Home Minister Madhav Ghimire has described Nepal Police as a very close and reliable friend of the people, who is on duty round the clock.

Inaugurating the new building of District Police Office, Kaski at Gairapatan of Pokhara on Friday, he said the performance of Nepal Police was laudable given the limited means and resources at its disposal.

On the occasion, Home Minister Ghimire also said that the role of Nepali Police will be very important in successfully holding the November 19 CA election.

Speaking at the programme, Inspector General of Police Kuber Singh Rana said a total of 768 units of physical infrastructure of Nepal Police was destroyed during the conflict while 1,486 police personnel lost their lives.

The two and a half storey building was completed at a total cost of Rs. 13. 55 million. The office covers an area of around ten ropani of land. RSS
