Right to vote should not be obstructed: dr yadav

Kathmandu, Oct. 18: Election Commissioner Dr Ayodhi Prasad Yadav has suggested the CPN-Maoist leadership to not infringe the right of the people to vote.

Speaking at a face-to-face programme held in the capital on Friday, he urged all the political forces opposing the election to let people exercise their franchise without any obstruction.

Preparation for every aspect of the November 19 election is underway to conclude it as another big festival of the Nepalis, he added.

On the occasion, election commissioner Yadav also disclosed that printing of 10.64 million ballot papers for the proportional representation (PR) system was completed this morning and that the printing of the first-past-the-post (FPTP) ballot papers is undergoing.

As the election programme has move ahead steadily any party taking or not taking part in it now does not hold any significance, he said while adding that the Election Commission was prepared to face any challenge until the day the results are all announced. RSS
