Call to Implement election manifestoes

Kathmandu, Oct. 30: Various speakers have stressed the need of practical implementation of manifestoes unveiled by different political parties in view of forthcoming Constituent Assembly (CA) election.

The speakers made this remark at an interaction programme organized here on Wednesday by Media International on ‘inclusion of economic, cultural and educational issues in the parties’ manifestoes and its implementation’.

On the occasion, the economic sector experts challenged the political parties to implement the manifestoes being made public in the run up to second CA election while lambasting parties’ failure to meet the commitments made in the earlier election.

Vice-chairperson of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Pradeep Jung Pandey complained that the parties failed to pay attention towards economic issues and urged them to create environment for private sector to function well putting strike and shutdown to an end forever.

Member of Nepal Trade Association Shyam Bahadur Bajgain lauded the inclusion of some economic issues in the parties’ election manifestoes when the economic policy of the country is in limbo.

Seniro Secretary of Trans-Himalayan Trade Association Bhim Poudel pointed out the need of political stability to take the private sector to the pace of development.

Advisor to Hotel Association Nepal Gandhi Pandit called for the political leadership to materialize their commitments including making country load-shedding free within three years and implementing industrial policy to attract foreign investment. RSS
