Kathmandu, Oct. 30: The Election Commission (EC) has sought clarification with the CA candidates for violating the election code of conduct for the upcoming Constituent Assembly (CA).
The EC said that the cases of violation of election code of conduct were reported in the constituencies of Panchthar, Salyan, Baglung, Chitwan, Jhapa, Lamjung, Myagdi, Kathmandu, Rautahat, Dhading, Dolakha, Dhankuta, Doti, Syangja, Baitadi and Mahottari districts.
The EC said that the candidates of the UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress, CPN (UML), Sanghiya Samajbadi Party, Rastriya Prajatantra Party and some others were reported to have breached the election code of conduct.
Spokesperson at the EC, Bir Bahadur Rai, said that the candidates were found distributing T-shirts, vests, caps printed with party flags and so other anti-code activities.
Meanwhile, the EC has directed the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) not to begin new works. RSS
