Kathmandu, Oct. 28: The Election Commission (EC) has started printing of temporary voters’ identity cards with photographs for the upcoming election to the Constituent Assembly (CA).
The EC has started printing the identity cards from Sunday evening, high level source of EC told RSS.
According to the source, there is a schedule to complete the works of printing identity cards till next Saturday. The EC has a schedule to send the identity cards to voters of the 240 constituencies from November 3.
The EC has been making arrangements for distributing identity cards through Election Education and Voters’ Education Volunteers, 240 Election Officers and the District Election Offices, it is learnt.
There are 12,147,865 voters including 6,166,829 women, 5,980,881 men and 155 third gender voters for the second CA election, according to the EC.
A total of 6,128 candidates have filed their nominations for direct election and 11,003 for proportional for the election. RSS
