Vehicles of Koirala, Acharya torched

Nepalgunj, Oct. 28: An unidentified group torched a vehicle used by president of the Nepali Congress, Sushil Koirala, used for election publicity at 10:45 am this morning.

The group comprising two youths set the vehicle (Bhe 1 Cha 917) parked at the office of the Nepali Congress at Nepalgunj-13 on fire.

Member of the Publicity Committee, Uma Thapa Magar, said that rear wheels of the vehicles were burnt and windowpanes were cracked in the incident.

Koirala is the candidate from Banke Constituency No. 3 for the upcoming election to the Constituent Assembly (CA).Search for the youths is underway, said police.

Meanwhile in Kathmandu, two unidentified persons torched a vehicle used by Narahari Acharya, Nepali Congress candidate of the direct election from Kathmandu Constituency No. 5 at 9:30 am today.

The persons set the parked vehicle (Ba 6 Cha 419) on fire by sprinkling petrol at Dhapasi-based Krishna Temple. The vehicle was completely damaged in the incident.

Acharya said that the persons also destroyed election publicity materials kept at Dhapasi-based contact office.The Nepali Congress Publicity Committee condemned the incident and demanded action against the guilty. RSS
