Kathmandu, Oct. 26: CPN-Maoist Chairman Mohan Baidya has claimed that people’s constitution would not be drafted even by the next Constituent Assembly (CA).

Talking to media persons after releasing two books titled Rastriyata and Rapti Doon by party central member Anil Sharma here on Saturday, the CPN-Maoist Chairman said the election going to be held by putting the CPN-Maoist aside and following foreign directions would hold no meaning. He announced to draft a new constitution through street-based agitation.

Responding to a query of journalists whether CPN-Maoist is likely to go for the armed agitation in course of boycotting the election, he said the party is not in line of attacking armies and police deputed in the constituencies. “We have just urged the election candidates not to enter the villages and the people will offend if they (candidates) turned deaf ears to our calls.”

People have dissent in the next CA election and attacks being reported during the election publicity campaign are the reflection of such anger, he said. The CPN-Maoist attack is not targeted at the UCPN (M), he said, adding, “However it is UCPN (M) Chairman Prachanda who played a main role to detach us from the mainstream of the politics.”

He further added the government decision to mobilize Nepal Army for the election was a result of a defeated mentality of the government and four political parties. RSS
