Two million rupees government grant to FNJ

Kathmandu, April 25: The government has decided to allocate two million rupees to the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) as grant assistance for its upcoming general convention.

            A meeting of the Council of Ministers Friday took a decision to this end, according to the government spokesperson and Minister for Information and Communications Dr Minendra Rijal.

            Similarly, the meeting agreed to provide Rs. 500,000 each to the members of the Nepali Cricket Team who participated in the ICC T20 World Cup. Likewise, the government is to allocate one million rupees for the development activities in the current fiscal year on the recommendation of lawmakers.

  

            The meeting decided to grant permission to Nepal Army Major General Purnachandra Thapa to take part in the competition for the post of Force Commander of the UNIFIL Head of Mission.

            The Council of Ministers decided to amend the Education Regulations to extend the tenure of temporary teachers (without exceeding six months for one time) until 2075 BS bearing in mind the long time required for fulfilling posts occupied by temporary teachers through a process for making the posts permanent and to avoid possibility of crisis of teachers.

            The meeting accepted assistance of Rs. 935 million from Norway for local governance and community development programme.

            On the occasion, Communications Minister Dr Rijal denied making any statement about the possibility of an increment in the price of petroleum products in the near future as published by newspapers recently. The government could not take any move regarding the price of petro products until the House decision, he said, adding the government expenditure is guided by the House.
