Ganeshman Singh’s Birth centenary celebrations begin

Kathmandu, Nov 10: A year-long celebration programme on the occasion of birth centenary of supreme commander late Ganeshman Singh formally began here from today.

 

Minister for Local Development, Prakash Man Singh, who is also the son of the late Singh, started the programme garlanding a photo of the Ganeshman in Shova Bhagwati.

On the occasion, Minister Singh urged people to follow ideologies invented by late Ganeshman, who contributed a lot during the democratic movement in Nepal.

Minister Singh was of the opinion that all parties should make their efforts to deliver constitution on time as per the promise made among people during the Constituent Assembly election.

Various programmes as seminars, photo exhibition, among others will be organised at the local level during the year-long programme.

According to the Minister Singh, also the chairman of the Ganeshman Singh Foundation, the Foundation will appeal the government to publish a postage stamp featuring the leader and to issue a coin inscribed with the late Singh’s photo.

Similarly, various Special Issues will be published in the literary magazines featuring Ganeshman Singh during the celebrations.

The Ganeshman Singh Award will be established and it will be conferred to those, who have contributed to the democratic movement.

Different personalities including Ramhari Joshi, Nutan Thapaliya, Yog Prasad Thapaliya, Gopal Das Bade Shrestha, Gauri Rana and Bijaya Sharma will be awarded.
