Nepal Water Supply Corporation donates to PM fund

Kathmandu, Oct 29: Nepal Water Supply Corporation today has donated fund to the PM Natural Disaster Relief and Rescue Fund in a bid to support the victims of natural disasters that occurred in various places of the country during the first week of August.

 Arjunbabu Dhakal, the General Manager of the Corporation, handed over a cheque worth Rs 358,325 to Prime Minister Sushil Koirala at a programme held at his residence this morning.

The corporation’s staffs donated a day’s salary for this purpose, the GM informed.

 PM Koirala, after receiving the cheque, expressed his gratification over development of the tradition of helping one another among Nepalese at the time of adversity.

Koirala was of the opinion that any national problem would find a logical solution through the mutual cooperation, coordination and unity.

 Thanking the staffs at the Corporation for helping the victims, forgoing their meal, the PM also assured them that the donated fund will be best utilized.

  On the occasion, he also directed the GM Dhakal to ensure the smooth supply of drinking water, especially in the urban areas where people have been complaining about the services of the Corporation as supply and the tariff of the potable water.

 Urban Development Minister Dr Narayan Khadka was also present in the programme.
